Lactic Acid
Lactic Acid
Also known as: AHA · Milk Acid
ExfoliatingMoisturisingBrightening
“A gentler AHA that exfoliates and hydrates simultaneously.”
What it does
Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid naturally derived from fermented milk. It is a larger molecule than glycolic acid, so it penetrates less deeply, making it gentler and better tolerated by sensitive skin. Unusually among AHAs, it also functions as a humectant, providing hydration alongside exfoliation.
Benefits
- Gently exfoliates to smooth texture and improve radiance
- Functions as a humectant to attract and retain moisture
- Improves hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone
- Better tolerated than glycolic acid for sensitive skin types
- Helps normalise skin cell turnover
