What it does

Tranexamic acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine, originally used as a blood-clotting medication. In skincare, it inhibits pigmentation through multiple mechanisms: blocking UV-induced plasmin activity, reducing the interaction between keratinocytes and melanocytes, and decreasing melanin production. It is particularly effective for melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Benefits
  • Effectively reduces melasma and stubborn hyperpigmentation
  • Works through multiple anti-pigmentation pathways for comprehensive brightening
  • Well-tolerated by sensitive skin, including during pregnancy when used topically
  • Reduces redness and post-inflammatory marks
