What it does

Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid found in grains. It works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase (reducing melanin production), killing acne-causing bacteria, and reducing the inflammation associated with rosacea. Unlike many actives, it is considered safe during pregnancy and is exceptionally well-tolerated.

Benefits
  • Fades post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and melasma
  • Kills Cutibacterium acnes bacteria that cause breakouts
  • Reduces redness and inflammation associated with rosacea
  • Normalises follicular keratinisation to prevent new comedones
  • Safe for sensitive skin and during pregnancy
