What it does

Squalane is a stable, saturated form of squalene — a lipid naturally produced by human sebaceous glands. It is an exceptional emollient that mimics the skin's own natural moisture factors, filling gaps in the lipid barrier without feeling greasy. Modern cosmetic squalane is typically derived from olives, sugarcane, or amaranth rather than shark liver oil.

Benefits
  • Softens and smooths skin without greasiness
  • Reinforces the lipid barrier to prevent water loss
  • Non-comedogenic and suitable for oily and acne-prone skin
  • Stable and long-lasting — does not oxidise like many plant oils
  • Compatible with virtually all other skincare ingredients
