What it does

Resveratrol is a polyphenolic stilbenoid found in grape skins, red wine, and berries. In skincare, it acts as an exceptionally potent antioxidant — significantly more potent than Vitamin C or E in some models — and activates sirtuin proteins (SIRT1) associated with cellular longevity and DNA repair. It has anti-inflammatory properties and inhibits UV-induced melanin production, making it effective for both anti-aging and brightening.

Benefits
  • One of the most potent topical antioxidants available
  • Activates sirtuin longevity proteins for cellular protection
  • Anti-inflammatory and calming
  • Inhibits UV-induced pigmentation
  • Synergistically enhances Vitamin C and E efficacy

Heads up
  • Highly unstable — oxidises quickly; requires opaque, airtight packaging
  • Limited long-term clinical data on topical use despite strong in-vitro results
  • Expensive in high-purity forms
How to use

Apply morning in an antioxidant serum, ideally paired with Vitamin C and E for synergistic protection. Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 3 months of opening.
