What it does

Ferulic acid is a plant-derived hydroxycinnamic acid found in cell walls of grasses and grains. Its primary role in skincare is as an antioxidant synergist: when combined with vitamins C and E, it roughly doubles their photoprotective potency and also significantly enhances their stability. It directly scavenges free radicals and has mild UV-absorbing properties of its own.

Benefits
  • Dramatically enhances the stability and efficacy of vitamin C and E
  • Directly neutralises free radicals from UV, pollution, and ozone
  • Extends the shelf life of antioxidant formulations
  • Mild brightening effect on its own
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
