OcclusiveBarrier repairSkin protectant
“The gold-standard occlusive that seals in moisture better than almost anything.”
What it does
Petrolatum is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons refined from petroleum. It is one of the most effective occlusives in skincare, forming a near-impermeable barrier that prevents transepidermal water loss. Contrary to popular belief, properly refined cosmetic-grade petrolatum is non-comedogenic and non-irritating.
Benefits
- Extremely effective at preventing moisture loss (TEWL)
- Accelerates wound healing and skin barrier recovery
- Soothes and protects cracked, chapped, or irritated skin
- Non-allergenic and non-sensitising for most people
