What it does

Licorice root extract contains two key actives: glabridin and liquiritin. Glabridin inhibits UVB-induced pigmentation and is comparable in potency to kojic acid for brightening. Liquiritin disperses melanin clusters to fade existing dark spots. Additionally, licorice root has anti-inflammatory properties that calm redness, making it uniquely effective for hyperpigmentation caused by post-inflammatory responses (PIH).

Benefits
  • Fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots effectively
  • Anti-inflammatory — reduces redness and post-acne marks
  • Inhibits UV-induced melanin production
  • Suitable for sensitive skin that cannot tolerate stronger brightening agents
  • Works well on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
