What it does
Cetearyl alcohol is a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohols — both fatty alcohols derived from plant oils. Like cetyl alcohol, it is an emollient and emulsifier that softens skin and helps maintain the consistency of creams and lotions. It is not related to drying alcohols like ethanol.
