What it does

Astaxanthin is a keto-carotenoid pigment found in microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis) that gives salmon and flamingos their pink colour. Studies suggest it has antioxidant activity significantly higher than Vitamin C, Vitamin E, or beta-carotene. Topically, it protects against UV-induced damage, reduces inflammation, and shows strong anti-ageing effects.

Benefits
  • Exceptionally potent antioxidant — neutralises multiple types of free radicals simultaneously
  • Reduces UV-induced photoageing
  • Strong anti-inflammatory properties
  • Improves skin texture, elasticity, and moisture retention
