Zinc Oxide
Also known as: Physical SPF · Mineral Sunscreen
SoothingAcne-fightingOil control
“A mineral UV filter that sits on skin to physically reflect harmful rays.”
What it does
Zinc oxide is a broad-spectrum mineral UV filter that physically reflects and scatters both UVA and UVB radiation. Unlike chemical filters, it works immediately upon application and is the least irritating SPF option, making it the gold standard for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties independent of its sun protection function.
Benefits
- Provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection immediately on application
- Non-irritating and non-sensitising — ideal for sensitive and reactive skin
- Anti-inflammatory properties calm redness and irritation
- Mild antimicrobial effect useful for acne-prone skin
- Photostable — does not degrade in sunlight
