What it does

Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) is an ethoxylated version of SLS, making it milder and less irritating. It is the most widely used surfactant in facial cleansers, body washes, and shampoos. While gentler than SLS, it can still be drying with very frequent use on sensitive or barrier-compromised skin.

Benefits
  • Effective, thorough cleansing
  • Gentler than SLS with less barrier disruption
  • Creates good lather
