What it does

Palmitic acid is a saturated C16 fatty acid and one of the most abundant fatty acids in human skin sebum and cell membranes. Topically it acts as an emollient and contributes to barrier repair. Unlike some saturated fatty acids, it has a moderate comedogenic rating and is broadly well-tolerated.

Benefits
  • Skin-identical — found naturally in sebum and barrier lipids
  • Softens and conditions skin
  • Supports barrier repair alongside ceramides
