“One of the most effective natural occlusives — mimics human sebum.”
What it does
Lanolin is a waxy substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. Its lipid composition closely resembles human sebum, making it highly skin-compatible and effective at preventing transepidermal water loss. Medical-grade lanolin is used in nipple creams, eczema treatments, and extremely dry skin formulations.
