What it does

Cyclopentasiloxane (D5) is a volatile cyclic silicone that evaporates quickly from skin, leaving a silky, non-greasy finish. It is widely used as a carrier for actives and as a texture agent in serums and primers. The EU has restricted it in wash-off products due to environmental concerns, but leave-on use remains permitted.
