What it does

Beeswax is a natural wax secreted by honey bees. It is used in lip balms, body butters, and stick formulations as an occlusive, thickener, and texture agent. It forms a protective film on the skin that retains moisture without completely blocking skin respiration. It is non-comedogenic despite its heavy feel.

Benefits
  • Natural occlusive — seals in moisture
  • Gives solid formulations (balms, sticks) their structure
  • Protective film for lips and extremely dry skin
