What it does

Olive oil is a rich emollient pressed from olives. It is high in oleic acid (omega-9) which penetrates skin well and is nourishing for dry skin types. However, its high oleic acid content makes it less suitable for acne-prone or oily skin where linoleic acid deficiency — not oleic surplus — is often the issue.

Benefits
  • Deeply nourishes very dry or mature skin
  • Rich in Vitamin E and polyphenol antioxidants
  • Anti-inflammatory squalene content

Heads up
  • High oleic acid content may worsen acne or congestion in susceptible skin
  • Studies show it can damage the skin barrier in people with atopic predisposition
  • Not recommended for baby skin or eczema-prone skin
How to use

Best for very dry body skin or hair. Patch test before facial use, especially if acne-prone.

Typical concentration: Used as needed in oils and rich creams
