What it does
Homosalate is a chemical UVB filter commonly used in high-SPF sunscreen formulations to increase the overall SPF. It is often combined with other filters like avobenzone, octocrylene, and oxybenzone. Regulatory bodies are reviewing its safety data due to potential endocrine effects at high concentrations, and the EU has recently lowered its maximum permitted concentration.
