What it does

Xanthan gum is a polysaccharide produced by fermentation of glucose or sucrose by the bacteria Xanthomonas campestris. It is used as a natural thickener and stabiliser in cosmetics, creating smooth gel textures and preventing ingredients from separating. It sits on the surface of skin and provides no direct active benefit.
