What it does
Isopropyl myristate is a synthetic ester of isopropyl alcohol and myristic acid, used as an emollient and solvent. It absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy residue, and enhances the spreadability of formulas. However, it readily clogs pores and is a well-documented trigger for acne cosmetica — breakouts caused by cosmetic ingredients.
